Privacy policy
What FirstTry CDL collects, what it does not, and what happens to it. Last updated October 7, 2026.
The short version
- You do not need an account to study here.
- Your practice progress stays in your own browser. We do not receive it.
- We collect your email only if you give it to us.
- We never collect license numbers, Social Security numbers or ID scans.
- No ads. We do not sell your information.

What we collect
What you type into our forms
If you ask for your Diagnostic results or to be notified when the Program opens, we collect your email address. With the Diagnostic results we also receive your predicted score, your weakest topics, and the state, license class and test date you chose, so we can send you the right plan.
What stays on your device
Your answers, scores, plan and settings are saved in your browser's local storage so you do not lose your work. This stays on your device. Clearing your browser data erases it. The "Erase my progress" button in the study app does the same.
What our host records
Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address and the pages requested, to run and protect the site. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers today.
We also run our own first-party analytics script that records page views and the steps people take through the site, such as starting the Diagnostic or requesting results, using a random identifier kept in your browser's local storage. It never includes your name or email address, and none of it is sold or shared.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for or collect driver's license numbers, Social Security numbers or ID scans.
How we use it
- To send you the results and plan you asked for.
- To tell you when the paid Program opens, and about updates to it. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep the site working and secure.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, like our host (Netlify) and, when paid access opens, our payment processor and email provider. They may use it only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your information.
Cookies
We do not set tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage to save your progress.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until you ask us to delete it or you unsubscribe and we no longer need it for the service.
Your choices
You can ask us to see or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you. Write to Hive Asset Group, LLC, 202 N. Cedar Ave., Suite #1, Owatonna, MN 55060. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under your state's law, and we will honor them.
Adults only
This site is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. See the terms of use.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
